All that’s measured

Alternate use of a “crowd counter” as I’ve only seen them being used to measure people – most often those entering a particular controlled or regulated space. In this case, the counter measures merit. With each repetition of a prayer, another click. A modern day iteration of the prolific wooden prayer beads, shown in the below picture. Einstein said not all that can be measured, matters (and vice versa).

What matters to you? Your boss? Your spouse? Why does it matter? Really, though? What are you (and the people around you) counting, and why/how?
