This motorbike grabbed my attention whilst I was walking out of an interview with the owner of an adjacent vehicle modification workshop. While not technically a true example of shanzhai in that the attempt to pass it off isn’t professional enough to be considered sincere, the owner of this shop has decked this “Jianshe” brand motorcycle out with some “extra” brands.

Sino-Japanese tensions may be rocky even in the best of times, but hard feelings cannot undo Japan’s sterling reputation for high-quality manufacturing (and Yamaha is no exception). As for Transformers, well, who wouldn’t want a motorcycle that could transform into an a**-whomping robot? And for under 9000 kuai (US $1430), no less.
