Here, a handheld, two-compartment container the likes of which I’ve not seen before. Unsure whether this is meant to divide a portion of roasted chestnuts among two people, or if I’m using it for its imagined use case – holding empty shells in the other “half” of the bag. As one side contracts as the purchaser consumes chestnuts, the other side expands as they deposit their shells.
In scrubbed-clean and orderly Lucerne, I’d hazard a guess I got the use case right. Here, even organic/biodegradable garbage (such as chestnut shells) being thrown on the ground would invite severe social sanction.
